Our Opportunity:

At Chewy we are building a team to launch a Sponsored Advertising business looking for a Senior Product Manager, Chewy Advertising Reporting . Sponsored Ad creates a win-win ecosystem for shoppers, brand owners and Chewy! Shoppers are offered a range of alternate options to help them choose better and learn about new products, new brands, new promotions and different price points. Brand owners and advertisers get to showcase their product offerings in front row for their target audience (proud pet owners) and maximize their reach. Advertising is a critical component of the ecommerce ecosystem and provides a critical revenue stream to the company.

As an member to the Chewy Advertising team team, youll be part of core leadership team and will drive product strategy. Youll be at forefront of product driven business impact. Along with the ads team, you will work on alignment across Chewy with teams including Marketing Analytics, Performance Marketing, and more.

As a key member of our Product Management team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy and execution of our offsite advertising initiatives. This role combines a deep understanding of advertising technologies, market trends, and user behavior to shape innovative products that elevate our offsite advertising capabilities.

The Senior Product Manager, Chewy Advertising Reporting will play a pivotal role building tools and applications to help transform our advertising data into insights. You will own two key areas data user experience and infrastructure. Your broad responsibilities will include:

  • User experience
    • Work with multiple cross-functional teams and leaders on changes and new initiatives that impact marketing performance and therein, reporting and instrumentation.
    • Build visualization tools for users with a diverse set of skills and varying degrees of comfort with data and technology (both internal and external)
  • Infrastructure
    • Work with Data Engineering on a path to democratize data and empower analysts and business users across advertising and the larger Chewy org to generate insights in a self-service manner.
    • Develop A/B frameworks that incorporate ads data into experimentation to drive launch decisions
    • Build our Billing/Settlements infrastructure to support our platform teams

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and effective problem-solver with proven experience working across an organization to get things done.

What you’ll do:

  • Take data products to market from 0 to 1
  • Scope visualization capabilities needed by our advertisers and internal users
  • Design and develop specifications for self-service reporting
  • Develop and maintain the roadmap for all data products
  • Engage very closely with the Engineering leadership to solve data, infrastructure, and scalability challenges across Advertising Technology
  • Engage and lead conversations with partner teams across Chewy to understand advertising implications of the various activities on Advertising technology stack and translate those conversations into requirements for the advertising engineering team
  • Drive adoption, communicate & showcase new features added to products in your portfolio.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of ownership, bias for action, & superior communication skills; be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • 5+ years in product management
  • 4+ years of product management experience working on UX or UI features on a professional software team
  • 3+ years of Analytics Technology experience including, and not limited to various marketing analytics systems such as Google Analytics, Segment.io, Appsflyer etc.
  • Proven track record of managing and executing large projects from start to finish, identifying and mitigating risks, manage multiple competing priorities, high attention to detail and situational fluency, ability to influence and motivate others, and perseverance to handle challenging business situations and make trade-offs at all levels of management
  •  Strong ownership, urgency, and drive, and build culture of experimentation, learning and innovation
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment leveraging Scrum; track record of building productive relationships with engineering leadership.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus:

  • Ability to speak technical jargons with the engineers and the ability to break it down to simple languages for others without a technical background
  • Experience in SQL and data manipulation
  • Experience with ML technologies like AWS SageMaker, DataBricks, Vertex AI, MS Azure ML, as well as Feature Store capabilities like AWS Feature Store, Tecton, HopsWorks, Feast.
  • Knowledge on data transfer mechanisms such as APIs, FTPs etc.
  • Knowledge of Agile systems such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Prior ads experience is a plus but not required
