About the Role:
We seek a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the development and evolution of key components of our industry-leading payer data usability platform. As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product vision, crafting our product roadmap, and developing critical new functionality to deliver enhanced value to our clients and the market. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of healthcare payer operations, agile product development experience, depth of experience in healthcare tech-enabled services, and strong technical expertise. This role requires a person who can successfully inform strategic direction, ensure flawless execution, lead strong cross-functional collaboration, engage with clients and prospects with exceptional acumen, and develop data products that drive significant customer ROI.
Lead the development and execution of your area’s product vision and strategy and ensure it is aligned with the company strategy and the overall product strategy.
Develop and manage product backlogs, taking in and organizing requests/feedback from various stakeholders.
Own the product roadmap for your area and ensure value delivery is optimized through ruthless quantified prioritization of features, balancing input from the market, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Be the voice of the customer and define user stories based on business value and customer impact. Ensure Product Engineering has everything needed to deliver against product roadmap items effectively.
Leverage strong technical expertise and a deep understanding of platform technology to partner with Engineering and guide the development and enhancement of Abacus Insights’ product suite, ensuring the use of emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and meet evolving customer needs.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product engineering, delivery, domain experts, sales and marketing, and operations, to define requirements, develop roadmaps, and ensure successful product launches.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform product strategy and development.
Actively engage with clients and key stakeholders (internal and external) to gather feedback, understand pain points, and drive continuous product improvements and innovation.
Effectively connect with Executive Leadership to provide updates on product priorities, articulate the product strategy and direction, and solicit input to improve value delivery to clients and the market.
Communicate new product features and the future roadmap with a clear link to client value generation in an easy-to-understand format.
Collaborate with the product marketing team to create go-to-market strategies, product messaging, and marketing collateral to drive adoption and usage of the platform.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior product team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of product management experience, focusing on healthcare technology or related domains
Proven track record of successfully launching and managing tech-enabled service platforms or products, preferably data solutions, to support healthcare organizations
Significant experience working at a healthcare payer in an operational role or developing products to support healthcare payers
Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex technical systems and work closely with engineering teams
Previous experience working with international teams and proven track record of successful delivery in this environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, ProductBoard).
Exceptionally strong project management skills with the ability to provide leadership in cross-functional teams to ensure on-time / on-budget delivery of commitments
Very strong client/prospect acumen with the ability to both communicate product features and roadmap and listen empathetically to understand their needs/problems and how Abacus can solve their problems
A highly proactive get-it-done attitude and the skills to back it up
