BPMA – Know Your User: Design Methods and Frameworks to Use Every Day
May 31, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join us on May 31 from 12-1 PM EST to learn about essential design methods and frameworks that you can put into practice immediately.
Julie Vera will share key frameworks, conceptual tools, and methods from the field of design research that any UXR, PM, or PMM can leverage in their day-to-day work. We will dive into the use of these tools within the context of design reviews and critiques, highlighting their potential to inform product inquiries and roadmap development. Additionally, we will review some concrete (and fast!) UX research methods that you can put into practice today.
Julie Vera is a Ph.D. student in Human-Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle where she researches sensemaking and anti-social behavior in online communities and social media platforms. Prior to joining the HCDE program, Julie served as the Lead UX Researcher at Monster.com, where she established the research program and led studies to build foundational user knowledge on job creators and seekers through ethnographic methods as well as usability testing. Her path to UX research was paved by her experiences as a data analyst in the marketing technology industry. She is keen on developing digital products that foster positive interaction, are delightful to use, and also drive business goals. Julie has a M.A. in sociology from Brandeis University and a B.S. from Northeastern University. In her (few!) spare moments, she can be found at the opening of new boba tea shops and metal shows.
